The Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) provides a common reference model for the skills needed to develop effective information systems. This enables organisations to understand their IT capabilities when delivering strategic business goals or planning projects.
SFIA enables an organisation to categorise its technical staff against industry standards and plan their development in line with business and IT strategies. It also allows easy replacement of capabilities on a ‘like for like’ approach.
Fordway uses SFIA to provide analysis and definition of an organisation’s IT capabilities and highlight paths for improvement in line with the organisation’s strategies. This includes organisational improvements in both service management and security. It complements Fordway’s offerings in ITIL best practices and Information Security (ISO27000).
